A striking brunette beauty with long, jet-black hair, sparkling eyes, a sweetly comely face and a voluptuous figure, Veres was further blessed with an exceptionally captivating strong and sultry voice. She was born on October 1, 1947, in the Hague, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. Her father was gypsy Hungarian violinist Lajos Veres and her mother was born in Germany to French and Russian parents. Mariska often accompanied her father on piano. She began her music career in 1963 as a singer with the guitar band Les Mysteres. She was a member of the groups The Blues Fighters, The Bumble Bees, Danny and His Favorites, General Four and The Motowns prior to becoming the lead singer for the Dutch rock band Shocking Blue in 1968 (she replaced original lead singer Fred de Wilde). Veres went on to a less successful solo career (her lone hit song was "Take Me High" in 1975). Shocking Blue reunited in 1984 for a back-to-the-60's rock concert festival. Mariska was the lead singer for the jazz outfit the Shocking Jazz Quintet in the early 1990s and fronted a new version of Shocking Blue from 1993 to 2006.

Dirk Gunther Mohr (The Hague, 1981), started acting when he was a child, performing in his parents' living room, re-enacting scenes of Rocky and Scarface. His dream was to play in big movies and play alongside his heroes Al Pacino and Robert deNiro. At a young age he also wrote his first film scripts. Dirk's career really took off at the age of 30, after following acting classes at several institutions and RJB Studio's in particular. There he was trained in method acting, a technique in which actors fully immerse themselves into their character, using their own memories and personal experiences to convey the story as sincerely and emotionally expressive as possible. For the short movie Tweespalt (2017), in which Dirk played an autistic young man, Dirk stayed in character, with his head tilted, during the entire week of the shooting, even off set.
During the past years, Dirk worked on many movies, tv productions and commercials. He also wrote the scripts for two movies about the life of King Henry VIII, HVIII: The Male Heir (2015) and A Royal Love (2016) and for Capo di Famiglia (2017), Capo di Famiglia II (2020) and Capo di Famiglia III (2022), a drama about a Dutch-Italian mobster family. In all the movies he also starred as the lead character. For his role as Vincent la Rosa in Capo di Famiglia I, II and III Dirk was awarded many times as Best Actor at the international film festivals, such as International Film Festival The Hague, the Los Angeles Actors Awards and the European Cinematography Awards. Moreover, Dirk received many nominations as best actor for his portraits in the Capo di Famiglia Trilogy, Daddy's Day and A Royal Love.
In the WWII movie Betrayal (Grenzeloos Verraad) Dirk played a devious SS lieutenant, which aired in Dutch cinemas and will be shown on Netflix as of September 2023.
Dirk is known for his versatile acting skills, especially for his strong facial expressions, which he uses to fascinate, mesmerise and captivate his audience. Whether comedy or drama, Dirk always manages to make a lasting impression.- Director

Anyone who has heard Vajèn sing in the many musicals she has played in knows that she has a unique, instantly recognizable voice. Clear, subtle and full of control, but powerful when the text and underlying feeling demand it. She sings other people's words as if she wrote them herself, experienced the emotions, felt the pain. An advantage of her work as an actress. In preparation for her role, she dives into the skins of the characters she plays like a chameleon. She immerses herself in their characters, until she knows what moves them. By acting she understands better how people work and what life has to offer. And, little thinker she is, it makes her think for herself. What does she think, what would she do in such a situation? She puts the thoughts and reflections that this produces on paper. They form the basis of her songs.
Through her songs, Vajèn connects with people. She rarely saw how well music can do that when she sang at the memorial for the victims of the Stint accident in Oss. She saw that she could provide comfort and support by singing to people. Vajèn always sang from her heart. Now that the words she sings are her own, they take on an extra charge. "When you sing for people, there is an immediate connection. You give something of your feeling and you get it back immediately" she says about the magic of singing.- Actor

César Franck, a French composer best known for his massive Symphony and enchanting three chorales for organ, which he wrote during the last month of his life after being hit by a horse-omnibus.
He was born César-Auguste Franck on December 10, 1822 in Liege, Belgium. He studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Liege before going to the Paris Conservatoire in 1835. There he studied piano with Zimmerman and organ with Benoist. His ability for sight-reading was legendary since his school days; Franck received the "Grand prix d'honneur" for transposing a fugue a third lower on sight.
Franck contributed twelve major works for organ, that made him the most important organ composer in France, and arguably second to Johann Sebastian Bach. He also wrote a massive "Symphony in D minor" (1886-88) and the "Symphonic Variations" for piano and orchestra. He admitted his interest in the music of Franz Liszt and Richard Wagner. In 1858 he became organist at the basilica Sainte-Clotilde and remained at that post until his death. He was a professor of organ and composition at the Paris Conservatoire, having such apprentices as Claude Debussy, Louis Vierne, and Paul Dukas.
César Franck suffered from pleurisy after he was hit by a horse-omnibus in 1890. After that accident he composed what is considered his masterpiece, the "Three Chorales" for organ. He died on November 8, 1890 in Paris, and was laid to rest in the Cimetriere du Montparnasse.- Editor
